FAQs
What is the difference between a moissanite and lab diamond?
Lab diamonds and moissanite are two popular alternatives to natural diamonds for use in jewellery. While they may appear similar to the naked eye, and are both lab-grown (as natural moissanites are rare and tend to be too small to use in jewellery), they have distinct differences in their composition, physical properties, and overall characteristics.
Lab diamonds have the same composition as natural diamonds. They are made of carbon, whereas moissanite is made from silicon carbide. Besides the standard differences between diamonds and moissanite, the main difference between moissanite and lab diamonds are the price, with moissanite generally being the more affordable option. The decision between the two often comes down to personal preferences and budget.
Do you offer options to customise your rings?
There are two ways in which you can order a customised ring.
- Customise one of our designs – As our rings are made-to-order, unless bought from our ready-to-wear collection, you can add on additional features such as a hidden halo or pave bridge when adding a ring to your cart. You can find the relevant customisations options on each product page.
- Bespoke design – We offer a fully bespoke ring design service. If you can’t find anything you like in our standard collection, just complete a bespoke order form and book a consultation with us and we will give you a free no-obligation quote. If you decide to go ahead, we will carry you along the journey of creating your perfect ring.
Do you offer a resizing service?
We offer one free resizing service for all our rings, but the ring will need to be shipped back to us at the expense of the customer using a fully insured postal method. Please note that rings can only be sized up or down by a maximum of 3 full sizes.
To avoid needing a resize, we advise being professionally sized in person or ordering one of our FREE ring sizers.
I need a ring quickly. What are my options?
Our ready-to-wear rings are a great option for rings needed in a hurry. These are rings that are already in stock. Please note, that depending on the size needed, you may need to allow a window of time for the ring to be resized. Ready-to-wear rings can be in your hand anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks.
Alternatively, if you would like to order a made-to-order or bespoke ring, we may be able to expedite the order of your ring at an extra cost. Please contact us via email or by booking a consultation to discuss this option.
Do your moissanite stones come with authenticity certificates (e.g. GRA)?
Please note, that moissanites are not authentically graded by gemmologists such as the GRA. This does not mean that stones that come with the certificate are necessarily fake, however many jewellers may create a version to reassure customers of authenticity. We invite you to read more about this online.
Bearing this in mind, we do not falsify GRA reports and certificates. We do however, provide a certified guarantee of authenticity with every ring we sell.
I’ve already seen the ring design that I want from a different jeweller/site. Are you able to replicate this design?
We welcome you to share any designs that you have seen that you’d like us to recreate a version of. There are many existing designs out there that may already meet your requirements. However, during a bespoke design consultation, we will certainly make you aware of other features you can change or add to make the ring unique to you.
How far before I need it should I purchase my made to order ring?
Typically, our made to order rings and bespoke orders take between 6-8 weeks to be completed. To allow for any issues, we recommend placing your order at least 10 weeks before it is needed.
We may be able to expedite the order of your ring at an extra cost. Please contact us via email or by booking a consultation to discuss this option.
Alternatively, you can check out our ready-to-wear range for rings that could be with you between 1-14 days.

How should I care for my TigerStones jewellery?
Moissanite is a durable and hard gemstone, but still requires some care to keep it looking its best. Here are some general care instructions for your ring:
- Clean your ring regularly with mild soap and warm water. You can also use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean the stone and the setting.
- Remove your ring before swimming or engaging in activities that may expose it to impact or harsh chemicals including bleach, chlorine, and other cleaning products or impact. This will help prevent scratches, chips, or other damage.
- Store your ring separately from other jewellery to prevent scratching. You can use a soft cloth or jewellery pouch to keep it safe.
- Have your ring professionally cleaned and inspected by a jeweller once a year to maintain its beauty and durability.
Following these care instructions should help keep your moissanite ring looking as beautiful as the day you bought it.
How do I figure out my ring size?
We advise being professionally sized in person or ordering one of our FREE ring sizers. There are other tips and tricks that can be found online, but the two we have mentioned are the most reliable.
